LYNCHBURG, Va. -- The Lynchburg Hornets are headed back to the ODAC semifinals for the second straight year under head coach Kevin Cardoza after sweeping Randolph-Macon, 3-0, inside Turner Gym.

The victory adds to an already historic season for the Hornets, tying the program record for most wins in a single year. Furthermore, the three set victory marks the 15th sweep for Lynchburg this season.

Lynchburg opened with an aggressive attack, jumping out to an 11-4 lead. Junior outside hitter Tori Williamson led the early surge, recording six of her team-high 15 kills in the first set. Williamson and Kate Hardie combined for 24 kills with just two errors apiece. Despite a late rally from the Yellow Jackets, Lynchburg held strong to take the opening frame, 25-21.

The Hornets' offense stayed hot in the second set, tallying 15 more kills. With the score at 11-10, Lynchburg went on a 7-1 run that featured two of Alexis Scipione's four service aces on the night. Scipione and Hardie each finished with four aces, while Kailey Keough added three. The Hornets cruised to a 25-15 win to take a commanding 2-0 lead.

Lynchburg completed the sweep in dominant fashion, posting 16 kills with just one error in the final set for a stellar .652 hitting percentage. Defensively, Cassi Blackmore anchored the back line with 14 digs, helping secure the Hornets' semifinal berth with a 25-14 win.

With all four top seeds advancing, Lynchburg will now face No. 3 seed Bridgewater in the ODAC semifinals on Thursday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m.
