Lynchburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg athletic department is ecstatic to welcome in the class of 2025 inductees into the Lynchburg Sports Hall of Fame with the induction ceremony taking place on campus on October 16th at 7 p.m.
Selected by the Hall of Fame Committee, the Lynchburg Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2025 features two teams of distinction, three individual National Champions, and 10 distinguished student-athlete alumni.
"It's an amazing class of exceptional men and women who have made an impact during their time here on campus," said Director of Athletics Jon Waters. "Each person's Lynchburg journey was inspirational and helped propel their programs as well as our campus forward in a positive direction. It is an honor to be able to recognize this group."
Introducing, the Lynchburg Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2025:
Eddie Coffren V - 2025 Men's Golf Individual National Championship
One of the best golfers to compete for the Hornets, Eddie Coffren V earned the first NCAA DIII Individual National Championship Award in program history and fourth ever in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference in 2025. Throughout the entire competition, Coffren was at the top of the leaderboard and never dropped below second place. He concluded the national championship with a final composite score of six under par and 18 total birdies throughout the four rounds. Following the conclusion of the championship, Coffren was named a PING First Team All-American. He helped his team place second as a group in the NCAA Championship for the highest placement on the national stage since 1980.
Tor Hotung-Davidsen - 2025 Men's Outdoor Track & Field 1,500-Meter National Championship
The owner of the fastest outdoor track and field mile time in NCAA Division III history, Tor Hotung-Davidsen claimed the 2025 individual national championship title in the 1,500-meter race. Running alongside fellow Hornet Sam Llaneza, the 2024 outdoor national champion in the 1,500-meter race, the pair sat in the middle of the pack for the first two laps, inching into third and fourth place with 800 meters remaining. The field's pedestrian pace opened the door for Hotung-Davidsen to close quickly within the final lap, accelerating with a 55-second 400 meters to clinch the national crown. Hotung-Davidsen cemented his first individual title after finishing as the runner-up two times in the men's 800m run at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
Chasen Hunt - 2025 Men's Outdoor Track & Field 5,000-Meter National ChampionshipÂ
The record-holder for the fastest outdoor track and field 5,000-meter time in NCAA Division III history and the third student-athlete in Lynchburg history to have multiple national titles during his time in the Hill City, Chasen Hunt earned the 2025 5,000-meter individual national championship. His 14:10.51 performance in the men's 5,000m proved to be a tactical race, with Hunt closing the final 800 meters in two minutes and two seconds, on par for 4:05 mile pace. Hunt, having set the divisional record clocking in at 13:41.96 earlier in the season, comfortably sat in the middle of the pack before advancing with a kilometer remaining. Within the final two laps, he manufactured a five-second gap from the rest of the field. The 5,000m crown was Hunt's second victory at an NCAA Championships after he brought home the men's distance medley relay title at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Championships.
Kappie Fraher '86, Women's Lacrosse
A key piece of the 1986 women's lacrosse team that made an appearance in the NCAA Division III national semifinal game, Kappie Fraher was a two-time IWLCA All-American, three-time IWLCA All-Chesapeake Region honoree, and a four-time All-ODAC First-Team member. In all four of her seasons with the Hornets, Fraher contributed to the squad claiming four straight ODAC Championship titles, the first in program history in her freshman season. The defender was named a First-Team All-American in both her junior and senior seasons. In her final year with the squad, she helped her team achieve an ODAC Championship victory with a 13-10 final over Roanoke. Following was a narrow 7-5 win over Denison in the NCAA quarterfinal round. In the 1986 season, she tallied multiple games with eight interceptions and totaled double-digit goals.
Sarah Gioffre '97, Field Hockey
A standout in program history, Sarah Gioffre ranks 10th all-time in both career points (139) and goals (50), while also holding the 5th-highest total in career assists with 39. Her performance earned her national recognition as an NFHCA All-American and consistent conference honors as a three-time All-ODAC selection. She delivered one of the program's top single-game performances with 9 points, tying for 12th-most in a game. Additionally, she is tied for 7th-most assists in a single season with 13.
Jon Crews '08, Baseball
A star first baseman for the Hornets team that tallied 32 wins - a program record at the time - Jon Crews cemented himself in the Lynchburg record books with top marks in runs batted in and doubles. He currently sits at 6th in program history for RBI in a season with 59 and has the record for most doubles in a season with 21 in his senior campaign. The 2008 ABCA First Team All-South Region honoree totaled the 5th most career doubles at Lynchburg with a total of 40. Additionally, Crews was selected to both the First Team All State and All-ODAC teams. Throughout his collegiate career, Crews averaged .332 at the plate and got on base at a .405 clip. He totaled 161 hits and 125 RBI over his four seasons.Â
Brittany Allsop '09, Softball
A two-time All-American and a significant piece of the 2008 Lynchburg softball squad that appeared in the NCAA World Series, Brittany Allsop left a great impact on the Lynchburg community. She was a three-time honoree on All-ODAC and All-State teams, and was selected to All-Region teams in her final two seasons with the Hornets. From 2007 through 2009 - all teams that Brittany Allsop played a role on - the Lynchburg softball squad claimed three straight ODAC Championship titles and advanced to the NCAA tournament. The 2007 season represented the program's first appearance in the national tournament. In 2009, Allsop's final year at Lynchburg, she was awarded the ODAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award. Throughout her four-year stint, Allsop totaled a .378 batting average, 67 RBI, 49 stolen bases, 192 hits and 161 runs scored.
Josh Reed '10, Men's Soccer
A key piece on the Lynchburg men's soccer team that achieved 17 wins in 2009, a program record at the time, and set the foundation for a national championship appearance in 2010, Josh Reed sits within the top 10 in the program record books for two significant offensive categories. In the fantastic 2009 season that resulted in an ODAC Championship title and an NCAA First Round victory against Catholic, he tallied 17 points on five goals and seven assists. From his incredible senior campaign, Reed totaled the 6th-most points in a season with 31 on 11 goals and nine assists. Additionally, he is tied for 8th on the all-time list for assists in a season with nine. Throughout his collegiate career, he was named to All-Region and All-State teams twice as well as an All-ODAC nod in 2009.Â
Dylan Hoff '12/'17, Men's Lacrosse
A standout in Lynchburg men's lacrosse history, Dylan Hoff etched his name into the record books with an exceptional career marked by consistency and elite-level production. He ranks 5th all-time in program history with 251 career points, scoring 161 goals (tied for 6th all-time) and adding 90 assists (8th all-time). His final season with the Hornets concluded with him totaling 81 points on 52 goals and 29 assists, ranking seventh for points in a single season. That 2012 squad was the first to win an ODAC Championship in four years and sparked the run of NCAA tournament appearances that is currently at 13 consecutive years and still counting. A four-time All-ODAC and VaSID All-State honoree, he burst onto the scene as the 2009 ODAC Rookie of the Year and VaSID All-State Rookie of the Year. He also earned national recognition as a two-time USILA All-American. His achievements reflect a dominant presence on the field and a lasting legacy in Lynchburg Athletics.
Christina Tran '12, Women's Lacrosse
A key figure in the history of Lynchburg women's lacrosse, Christina Tran delivered a remarkable collegiate career that solidified her spot in the program record books. She ranks 2nd in single-season goals against average since 1996 (7.78) and 3rd in career goals against average in that span (9.65). Her 484 career saves rank 6th all-time at Lynchburg, and she sits 4th in program history with 189 ground balls. Among goalkeepers with at least 200 saves, her .485 save percentage ranks seventh. A three-time All-ODAC selection, she also earned All-Chesapeake Region honors and was recognized nationally as a 2011 IWLCA All-American. Her legacy stands as one of the best to ever play the position at Lynchburg.
Angela Bosco '14, Women's Soccer
A standout on the 2014 women's soccer national championship team, Angela Bosco ranks 2nd in program history in both career points (215) and goals (85), and is 2nd in assists (45). She holds the top two single-game point totals with 12 and 11, and appears in the top three for goals in a game with performances of 6, 5, and 4. Her 4 assists in one game rank 2nd all-time. She set the single-season records for points (76), goals (30), and is tied for 2nd and 3rd in assists (17 in 2012, 16 in 2014). Her 61 points in 2012 are tied for 4th in a season. Nationally recognized, she was named a 2014 All-American and the 2014 NSCAA National Player of the Year. She also earned 3 All-Region honors, 4 All-State selections, and was the 2014 All-State and ODAC Player of the Year, as well as a four-time All-ODAC honoree.
Dessi Dupuy '14, Women's Soccer
A key member of the national championship women's soccer team in 2014, Dessi Dupuy holds the program record for career points (239) and goals (105), and is tied for 10th all-time in assists (29). She posted 53 or more points in each of her four seasons and ranks 3rd in single-season points with 66. Her goal-scoring consistency placed her in the program's top 10 all-time each year: 3rd in 2014 (28), tied for 4th in both 2012 and 2011 (27), and recorded 23 in 2013. She shares the program record for most points in a game (10), is tied for 2nd in single-game goals (5), and holds the record for most hat tricks (11). Nationally recognized, she was a two-time All-American, four-time All-Region and All-State honoree, the 2013 All-State and ODAC Player of the Year, 2011 ODAC Rookie of the Year, and a four-time All-ODAC selection. She is also tied for 11th in career goals in Division III history.
Shannon Allan '15, Women's Basketball
Cemented in history as one of the best women's basketball players to put on the Lynchburg jersey, Shannon Allan tops the record book with the most points scored in a collegiate career in program history. Her 1,704 career point total spanning from the 2011 season through her final year in 2015 is 152 more than the next top scorer in program history, Kelly Fackler '97. The four-time All-ODAC selection ranks 7th all-time in rebounds (672), 8th in assists (231), 5th in blocked shots (131), and is tied for 9th in steals (141). Additionally, Allan shot .842 percent from the foul line throughout her collegiate career, which is the best mark in Lynchburg history of performers that made at least 100 free throws during their time with the Hornets.
2014 Women's Soccer - Team of Distinction
The 2014 Lynchburg women's soccer team made history as the first Hornets team to win an NCAA Division III team national championship, defeating Williams in penalty kicks on December 6 at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Mo. The Hornets completed the season unbeaten at 27-0-1, claiming both the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) title and a program-record 27 wins, tied for the most in Division III history. Their 122 goals ranked 6th all-time in Division III, and their 23 shutouts also set a program record. National recognition followed the team's remarkable season. Angela Bosco was named NSCAA Division III Player of the Year and earned All-American, All-State, and ODAC Player of the Year honors. Head coach Dr. Todd Olsen was named NSCAA National Coach of the Year. Dessi Dupuy joined Bosco as an All-American, while freshman Emily Maxwell earned Most Outstanding Defensive Player of the NCAA Tournament and was named All-State and ODAC Rookie of the Year.
2015 Men's Lacrosse - Team of Distinction
The 2015 Lynchburg men's lacrosse team historically had one of the greatest seasons in program history and was the first squad to compete in the NCAA National Championship game. The group tallied a program-record 21 total wins and went a flawless 9-0 in conference play en route to an Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship title. In the NCAA postseason, the Hornets reached the finals with wins over Sewanee (13-4), Aurora University (19-8) and Salisbury University (13-11) at home before traveling to Gettysburg University for a thrilling come-from-behind 11-9 win at Gettysburg College. Attackman Austin Stewart paced the team on offense and earned accolades as the ODAC Player of the Year and a USILA First-Team All-American. That season, Stewart broke the NCAA record across all divisions for the most goals in a season with 109 total in 24 games, a record that stands as of 2025. Head coach Steve Koudelka was awarded the USILA Division III Coach of the Year following the immaculate season.

Lynchburg inducted its inaugural class into the Sports Hall of Fame in 1979 with a group of 41 members of Lynchburg's storied athletics history. The 2025 class adds another list of qualified members to a prestigious group in Lynchburg sports history.
