Lynchburg, Va. – The University of Lynchburg women's soccer team will open Old Dominion Athletic Conference play against cross-town rival Randolph on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 7:00 p.m. as Shellenberger Field hosts CVU Community Night.

In 23 recorded meetings since 1999, the Hornets boast an undefeated record against the Wildcats with a 13-0 home record. The most recent meeting on Oct. 12, 2024 featured a 4-0 Lynchburg victory at WildCat Stadium where the Hornets earned a 35-2 shot advantage.

Lynchburg enters Wednesday evening's contest holding a 4-1-1 record. The Hornets dropped their last match against #2 Emory to a 6-0 scoreline; the neutral-site affair marked Lynchburg's first game conceding multiple goals this season.

Randolph enters the match with a 3-2-1 record in the nonconference slate following a 2-1 victory over Salem (N.C.). Junior winger Madison Booker leads the club with three goals and seven points on the season, while senior Rachel Fields has started all six matches between the pipes for the Wildcats.

While Lynchburg holds a 2-0-0 record on Shellenberger Field in 2025, Randolph looks to reverse the narrative while shouldering an 0-2-1 road record. The Hornets have allowed just seven shots per game and posted four shutouts to begin the year.

Lauren Orner leads Lynchburg offensively with four goals, while six different Hornets have netted a goal this season. The Hornets' last victory on Saturday, Sept. 13 against Maryville (Tenn.) featured four goals, including two that originated from set pieces.

Wednesday evening's match will be broadcast on FloSports.
