Women's Volleyball Hits the Road for Weekend Matches

Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg Hornets are set for two road matches this upcoming weekend, traveling to Washington, DC to play Catholic on Saturday, Sept. 26 and to Randolph College on Sunday, Sept. 27 to play Pittsburgh at Bradford.

The Hornets (13-1) currently sport a six game winning streak, after clinching a pair of crucial conference wins against Bridgewater and Washington & Lee last week.

Leah DiNardo enters this week as the reigning ODAC Offensive Player of the Week for her efforts in helping the Hornets clinch their first ranked win of the season. DiNardo and her fellow middle hitter Ava Meinhardt have been two of the most efficient scorers this season, hitting .298 and .313 respectively.

Catholic (4-8) enters this weekend with a two match losing streak and loses in three of their last four matches.

Outside hitter Julia Raab leads the Cardinals offensively with 2.46 kills/set. The sophomore has notched four matches with double-digit kills this season. Freshman Juliette Cummings has been a crucial element on the interior for Catholic this season, recording 26 total blocks and .57 blocks/set.

Pittsburgh at Bradford (11-3) has dropped their two most recent matches entering this weekend slate. The Panthers will take on Sweet Briar and Randolph this weekend prior to their matchup with the Hornets.

Quality defensive play has been a highlight this season for the Panthers, averaging 16.55 digs/set and 1.41 blocks/set. On the offensive end, Lillian Bentley has been the go to scorer for Pittsburgh at Bradford tabbing 3.53 kills/set.
