Waco, Texas -- University of Lynchburg equestrian coaches
Phillip Williamson, Director of Equestrian, and
Fallyn Belcastro, Assistant Equestrian Coach, have been named the National Collegeiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) Single Discipline Coaches of the Year, announced by the office of the association.
Williamson earns his third Single Discipline Coach of the Year accolade following the team's fourth NCEA national championship in five years. The Hornets finished with a 12-2 overall record, the ODAC championship title, and a perfect 4-0 record in the postseason. Lynchburg ranked atop the national single discipline poll for a significant portion of the year and concluded the season with numerous accolades, including three ODAC special awards, a plethora of championship MOPs and All-Championship team selections, and 16 regular-season MOPs.
Belcastro claims her first NCEA coaching award with the Single Jumping Seat Coach of the Year honor. In her first season as a coach, she saw
Abby Zemp be named a First Team All-American in the Flat, while three additional Hornets earned All-American honorable mentions. Zemp was also named the Flat Championship MOP for the NCEA.
