The Lynchburg lacrosse program means a lot to who I am. The way I carry myself, head held high and proud of who I am goes back to all of the hard work that was put into the program. How I teach my students or coach my players goes back to how I was pushed and how barriers were broken through during my time playing for the program. I think about every run I took, every lift I did, and every practice there ever was and I translate that to how far my students can push themselves in the classroom and have them stand on their desks during test time. I have my players push themselves the way we all have on the field. In all, this program helped shape who I am and how I relay things to those around me and to push others the way I have been pushed throughout my four years playing.

Lynchburg Men's Lacrosse was the point in my life where I learned how to work hard. I found out what happens in life when you don't cut corners, you don't give up, and you figure out how to finish no matter what obstacles are in your way. It is one of the single most important characteristics that translates into the rest of your life. It is interesting to think about, and it comes to my mind often. There have been countless moments since graduating from Lynchburg that I realized how much the lacrosse program sets you apart from most people in your life for the reasons above.

What does Lynchburg College Lacrosse Mean To You? This was a huge part of my life and helped shape me as a person during my late teens and continuously today. I was fortunate to be aligned to an amazing coaching staff who demanded excellence and taught me it is about the team first. Being on this squad was a privilege and with that came an immense amount of responsibility to be the best you can be and outwork yourself everyday. Nothing motivated me more then an early morning or late night in terrible outdoor conditions where the entire team is embracing the element. We all knew that no other team was doing what we were doing and in that moment I grew to love my teammates and my college because of the experiences like that. This program built the foundation of my success now and for the future. I am always connected to the people and the school because of the strong legacy of LC Lacrosse. The relationships I have with my teammates continues to this day.

What does Lynchburg College Lacrosse mean to you?
Graduating from Lynchburg was an extremely special experience for me. I was able to attend college with my older brother, Josh Davey, and play on the lacrosse team with him for two years. Overall, Lynchburg and the lacrosse program taught me that there are really two types of people in life. There are people who are content with what they have and are comfortable living in their own box and there are people who want to continually grow, succeed, and improve in both their personal and professional lives. My experience at Lynchburg instilled in me that I should always strive to be the person who is trying to better themselves every day in every aspect of life. My time at Lynchburg was a 4 year period that I will never forget and I consider myself lucky to have gotten to know so many great people along the way.

What did graduating from Lynchburg do for you?
Lynchburg taught me what hard work was and the mental commitment you need to have to be successful. Being a graduate of Lynchburg College and specifically the men's lacrosse program, has allowed me to work in the sport I love and excel because of the commitment, hard work, and mental toughness that was instilled in all of us that endured four years of being committed to a common goal. It taught me to jump right into a tough situation or project, rather than dip my toe in. These are lessons that I use and think about everyday at work and in my life.

What Does Lynchburg College Lacrosse Mean to you?: To me, Lynchburg College Lacrosse is about a journey. This program takes boys out of high school and helps shape them into young men. There are certain games, wins and losses that I will always remember. However, the lessons that I learned with this program and the time that I spent with my brothers on that journey is what I will cherish the most for the rest of my life.

What Lynchburg College Lacrosse Means to You?
When I think about playing lacrosse at Lynchburg College and being an alumni of the school as a whole, the strongest feeling is that of pride. I was fortunate enough to spend four years at Lynchburg as a player and another two as a coach and everyday I am reminded just how much I gained from those experiences. In those six years I grew up, I endured challenges and difficulties, I celebrated unbelievable moments and accomplishments with guys who are still my closest friends, and I learned a lot about myself and what it means to work hard and be a man. I draw on all these experiences in my roles at work, at home, and anywhere else I go. Because of all that Lynchburg College did for me, I couldn't be more proud to tell people where I went to school, where I played lacrosse, and to wear the L as much as I possibly can.

What does Lynchburg Lacrosse Mean to You?
Lynchburg Lacrosse means strength to me. It tested me in ways I never thought imagined. It was a journey with the highest of highs and some of the lowest of lows. As a result, it built a strong foundation that I will forever lean on as I grow and develop both professionally and personally. It has given me strength in friends, family, and values. Even as I type this, it's hard to really explain what it all means to me but at the end of the day it's forever apart of me. It is so much more than "juggling a sport and academics and meeting the demands of a student athlete..." not that that isn't a big part of it, but there's a unique spirit and purpose about this group that will drive you for the rest of your life. It's a journey that never stops and I am so proud to say that I played lacrosse at Lynchburg.

What Lynchburg College Lacrosse Means to You?
Lynchburg College and more importantly Lynchburg Lacrosse was one of the best experiences I've had in my life. What does Lynchburg Lacrosse mean to you?
I'm honored to be part of the Lynchburg Lacrosse family. I am proud to say that I played for Lynchburg and am flattered that I'm still included as an alum having only played my freshman and sophomore years. When I look back on my time at L.C., I feel that those two seasons on the Men's Lacrosse team were the most rewarding years I had in Lynchburg Va.
I believe Lynchburg Lacrosse is one of the best Division III programs in the country. And not just because of the successes on the playing field, but rather the cultivation and maturation of the young men who commit to this team. I sincerely believe the National Championship will find its way home to Lynchburg, but more importantly the Lynchburg Lacrosse alum will always be there to support the young men who become part of this family.

What does Lynchburg College Men's Lacrosse Mean to You:
Lynchburg College and especially Lynchburg College Men’s Lacrosse means Family to me. The life long friendships you make during your playing days and the relationships you make with all of the alumni that come through the program before or after you is like no other. What does Lynchburg College Men's Lacrosse Mean to You?
I think about Lynchburg Lacrosse every single day. I think about Lynchburg Lacrosse when I talk to the guys I use to play with, and when I face a challenge. The program is special on so many levels. One of my favorite Lynchburg Lacrosse phrases is “make the next play.” I reiterate it almost every day. This phrase is great because it emphasizes toughness. I have made countless mistakes since I have graduated from Lynchburg College, whether at work, law school, or life in general. However, I have never let those mistakes turn into larger issues that interfere with my goals. That is what “making the next play “ is all about. That is what Lynchburg Lacrosse is all about.

I have had some of the best experiences in my life while attending and playing lacrosse at Lynchburg College. Lacrosse has always been a huge part of my life growing up and I was lucky enough to have some of the best coaches in the country helping me develop my skills and help me continue my love for the sport and share my experiences with my family while at Lynchburg.
Lynchburg College to me was some of the best four years of my life. The friendships made, the life lessons learned, and the self confidence that is formed from being a part of the lacrosse team. Knowing now eight years removed: the hardest brick to understand on the road to success is the sacrifice it takes to earn whats at the end. The extra hour of shooting after practice, completing every rep in the weight room, running to the practice field; it's all part of the end goal. And if understood in the beginning, makes for an awesome ending. The mentality learned from being on the Lynchburg College Men's Lacrosse Team, and being coached by Coach Koudelka is a mindset that you will not find anywhere else. It's the competitive mental edge that wins.
One of the things I'm most proud of post college is the state championship the Arcadia Titans just won. I started this high school lacrosse program 3 years ago in Arizona and instilled early on, a lot of lessons learned from Couch Koudelka.

Although I just graduated, I already know that the days of me playing at Lynchburg College were the best days of my life. In college, the days and practices that were the most challenging were also the most rewarding. The best thing about our college, and especially our team, is that you get what you put into it. I have made life long friends with teammates that I respect and love.
I love our program because it is not easy; it is a long, hard road, with many challenges along the way. I did not play lacrosse for personal gain, benefits or any of that nonsense. I played for Lynchburg because I loved the sport, and the people within the program loved it just as much. My 2016 class walked away with three ODAC championship appearances, two ODAC championships, four NCAA tournament appearances, and one National Championship game.
I am proud of our program because it was built upon the framework of hardworking individuals. In 1999, we took our first step in being a real contender in our Division III world. Now, we are a powerhouse contender, hungry for that National Championship. It is not a flashy or individual type of program. It is a humble, hungry, and determined group of young men, backed by the best alumni in the world. Even though my years of playing are over, I cannot wait to cheer on past teammates and friends through every game. The Lynchburg lacrosse program truly has a large part of my heart, perhaps the largest behind the Almighty God. Best of luck to the class of 2017, let's keep taking this program in the right direction towards another ODAC championship, and closer to that national championship.
P.S. Coolest thing ever scoring that goal...the reaction from the guys on the field, the sideline, and bleachers is something I'll never forget.
