Luke Lowery is an accomplished baseball coach and former professional player with extensive experience in player development and team leadership. He joined the Hornets coaching staff as the Assistant Baseball Coach in August 2024.Â
He previously served as the Director of Player Development at Pro Development Group Academy in Fredericksburg, Va. In this position, Luke focused on enhancing the offensive skills of position players, designing individualized development plans, and coordinating with pitching and strength coaches to ensure a well-rounded training approach.
Before joining Pro Development Group Academy, Luke was the Head Coach and Assistant Catching Coordinator at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, from August 2019 to May 2022. His responsibilities included developing practice plans, managing catching drills, and creating personalized growth strategies for players. His leadership contributed to significant improvements in player performance and development.
Luke’s playing career began at East Carolina University, where he was recognized as an All-American Conference First Team selection and was named to the All-American Conference Tournament Team in 2015. The Arizona Diamondbacks subsequently drafted him in the 14th round and went on to play professional baseball in various leagues, including High-A minor league and the Frontier League.
Luke holds a Bachelor’s in Communication and Media Studies from East Carolina University.
