2015 All-ODAC First Team
D3baseball.com National Team of the Week - 2/24/14
Senior (2015): The senior appeared in all 35 games for Lynchburg, starting 34 at first base and left field… His 11-game hitting streak from March 24 to April 9 was the longest on the Hornet squad… Had hitting streaks of six and seven games earlier in the season… Combined to collect hits in 24 hits over a 26 game span… Only went hitless in five of Lynchburg’s 35 games… Led the team and ODAC in runs with 34… Second on the team and in the ODAC with 54 hits… Second on the LC team with 24 RBI… Reached base at a .488 clip… Named ODAC Player of the Week for the week of April 13 where he went 11-for-17 (.647) at the dish with a 5-for-6 game at Hampden-Sydney College in which he drove in six RBI and scored three more times.
Junior (2014): Breakout performer in left field, setting new career highs in every offensive category…went 4-for-4 with three runs scored, a double, three triples and eight RBI on February 22 against Oneonta State…the three triples and eight RBI were a season-high in the ODAC, as Rogers earned National Team of the Week honors from d3baseball.com…finished second in the ODAC in triples…ended the season on a 10-game hitting streak…was the first of back-to-back home runs on April 17 against Guilford College…rangy outfielder with great speed, made just two errors in the outfield while tying for the team lead with 11 stolen bases.
Sophomore (2013): Rogers solidified his role in both corner outfield spots, starting in 31 of his 32 games played…connected on his first career home run February 27 against N.C. Wesleyan College to extend a Hornet lead…stole a team-leading seven bases…improved his defense as the season went on, finishing with a .926 fielding percentage to go along with several highlight-reel catches.
Freshman (2012): Played in four games his first season as a Hornet including one start…went 1-3 at the plate with one run scored and registered two RBI.
Before LC: Four-year starter at the Steward School…first-team All-Conference, second-team All-State, and second-team All-Region selection…also played basketball for the Spartans.
Personal: Son of Chris and Jan Rogers…brother Thomas Rogers plays basketball at the University of Virginia...Business management minor.
