D3baseball.com National Team of the Week - 2/17/15

Sophomore (2015): The powerful righty bat played in 24 games, making 21 starts in right field… Stepped into a starting role the second weekend of the season, earning d3baseball.com National Team of the Week honors for a 6-for-12 performance against some of the best pitchers in the region at the Emory University Tournament… Hit in six straight contests from March 26 through April 7… Batted 14-for-29 (.483) in an eight-game span that encompassed the hit streak… Went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, a home run and three RBI at Washington and Lee University on April 9… Set a new career mark for hits in a game with a 4-for-5 effort against St. Joseph’s (Me.) College on February 15, matching the effort against Bridgewater College on April 1.

Freshman (2014): Started the year as the starting right fielder before seeing time as a pinch hitter with some spot starts mixed in towards the end of the season…displayed his power potential on April 18 when he went 3-for-6 with two homers, six RBI and three runs scored…only Hornet to hit two homers in a game in 2014.

Before LC: Started two years for the Titans of Cosby High School…named Second Team All-Region and First Team All-Dominion District as a senior…led Cosby to district championships in 2012 and 2013 and a regional championship in 2012…belted four home runs as a senior…made the honor roll in high school.

Personal: Son of Keenan Caldwell Sr. and Stacey and Albert Stokes…has two brothers.
