2014 All-ODAC Second Team
Senior (2015): Evans started 20 of Lynchburg’s 35 games as a senior for the Hornets, appearing as a defensive replacement or pinch hitter in seven other contests… Led off the second inning against Virginia Wesleyan College on March 22 with his first career home run in a home contest… Had six multiple hit games on the season, including a 2-for-4 showing with a double, a run scored, and an RBI on Senior Day against Washington and Lee University on April 19… Had six doubles on the year… Walked more than he struck out, resulting in a .354 on-base percentage.
Junior (2014): Evans had the best season of his Hornet career in 2014 while spending the entire year in the leadoff spot…led the team with 14 doubles, fourth-most in the ODAC…batted close to .400 all season…collected hits in seven of his last eight games…posted new season highs in walks, runs, RBI, batting average, doubles, triples and stolen bases…hit his first career home run at Guilford College on April 10…stole two bases in a game twice, against Oneonta State on February 22 and Tufts University on March 21…went 3-for-3 with three doubles in game one against Oneonta State.
Sophomore (2013): Evans used a powerful right arm to lead the Hornets with four outfield assists…saw time at the top and bottom of the LC lineup, leading the team in runs (33) while finishing third in hits (42)…worked deep into counts to draw the most walks on the team (19), allowing his on-base percentage (.417) to lead LC for most of the season before finishing second…had the highest fielding percentage of any Lynchburg outfielder, making one error in 87 attempts for a .989 mark.
Freshman (2012): Started 18 games in his freshman season while playing in a total of 33…played the majority of time in right field…recorded 13 hits and 11 runs with one double and five RBI…second on the team in sacrifice hits with 10.
Before LC: Three-year starter at Lord Botetourt High School…first-team All-District outfielder his junior and senior years…honorable mention All-Region in his junior and senior seasons as well…hit .375 his senior year.
