Senior (2011): Started and appeared in 11 games this season… achieved a 5-1 record and led the team with a spectacular 2.07 ERA… was second on the team in opposing batting average with .231… led the team in strikeouts with 43 and batters struck out looking with 21… did not allow any home runs or triples all year… only allowed 24 runs and 60 hits… had a win-loss percentage of .833… pitched 8.1 innings against Washington & Lee only allowing two hits with no runs and seven strikeouts.

Junior (2010): In 16 appearances, went 4-0 with a 3.11 ERA . . . started four games and threw two complete games . . . earned two saves in relief action . . . gave up 16 earned runs in 46.1 innings pitched and notched 31 strikeouts . . . ranked second in the ODAC in ERA.

Sophomore (2009): A strong year for this rising sophomore ... appeared in nine games this season with and era of 1.59 ... threw in 11.1 innings with 11 strikeouts to only one walk ... opponents were only batting .255 against him.

Freshman (2008): A solid year for the freshman ... appeared in five games while throwing in 8.2 innings ... recorded 11 strikeouts.

Before LC:  A two-year starter at Liberty High School ... named to the first team all district team in 2006 and honorable mention in 2007 ... competed in basketball and golf.

Personal: Matt is the son of Charles and Michele Morgan . . . has one sister, Lauren . . . business administration major and sports management minor.
