Senior (2011): Had a huge senior season for the Hornets starting all 39 games as an outfielder… had the second best batting average on the team with .323… scored the most runs on the team with 31 and tallied the most doubles with 10… led the team in total bases on the year with 66 and had an on base percentage of .407… had a slugging percentage of .426 and led the team in hits with 50… tied for first on the team in triples with three… batted in 27 runs which was second on the team and stole seven bases on the year with a .778 stolen base percentage… finished with a 1.000 fielding percentage on the year…had four RBI March 17 against Greensboro College.
Junior (2010): Posted a huge season for the Hornets in his first campaign at LC . . . was a starter for most of the season, starting 36 of his 38 games played . . . posted 16 multi-hit games on the year, while leading the Hornets with nine three-hit affairs . . . finished the season on a 16-game hitting streak, the longest of any Hornet in 2010 . . . had a huge ODAC Tournament, as he was named to the Tournament Team as well as garnering tourney MVP honors . . . finished with a .379 batting average, leading the team with 90 total bases . . . successful on eight of nine stolen base attempts . . . was plated a squad-high 44 times . . . led the conference with 18 doubles.
Sophomore - Frederick CC (2009): Finished the season as one of the Cougars best players . . . played in 40 games as a newcomer, hitting .406 in 101 at-bats . . . led the team with 13 doubles and three triples, while also homering a team-best three times . . . drove in 25 runs . . . posted a team-best on-base percentage of .516.
Before LC: A four-year letter winner for Keith Howell and the Eagles of Osbourn HS . . . three-time All-Cedar Run District team, while being selected to the All-Region squad twice . . . finished his career at OHS with a .385 batting average, holding nine offensive school records including hits in a career (109) . . . led his squad to a AAA state runner-up in 2005, and a run to the quarterfinals of state in 2006 . . . played on a team in 2006 that was ranked ninth in the country by Baseball America . . . also lettered in basketball and football.
Personal: Mike is the son of David and Kelly Walters . . . has one brother, Andrew, and one sister, Kassandra . . . business administration major.
