2014 Stats

Senior (2014): Appeared in 10 games with one start for the Hornets in 2014…went 1 2/3 scoreless frames to preserve a 7-6 victory over Randolph-Macon College on April 5…made his lone start of the year on April 19 at Bridgewater College…walked just seven batters all season.

Junior (2013): Johnston saw time mostly out of the bullpen in 2013, making 11 of his 12 appearances in relief…made an impact as the long man out of the pen, averaging nearly three innings per appearance…good control on the mound, striking out 18 against eight walks…his 2.27 ERA was best in the ODAC amongst eligible relievers and second overall behind teammate Martin Henderlite.

Sophomore (2012): Pitched 15 innings in 2012 with a 1-0 record…started two games and earned a save on the season…struck out 14 while only giving up eight hits.

Freshman (2011): Appeared in eight games and started in three… recorded 10 strikeouts for the Hornets.

Before LC: District pitcher of the year…1^st team all district…1^st team all region…honorable mention all state…no-hitter thrown…won 3 letters and started 3 years for the Cavaliers…3 time district champs and reached state semis for Cavaliers…7-1 (senior stats)..19-4(career stats)
