Donna Hodgert

Donna Hodgert joined Lynchburg's swimming staff in the spring of 2019 as a part-time assistant coach.

As the associate director of aquatics at Liberty University, Hodgert's full-time job is the oversight of maintenance and upkeep for Liberty's new, state-of-the-art natatorium, which is also the home of Lynchburg swimming.

Prior to joining Liberty's staff, Hodgert served as the head swim coach at her alma mater, ODAC rival Sweet Briar College, from 2014-18 and was SBC's interim athletic director in 2017-18. She was the head women's swimming coach at another ODAC program, Randolph-Macon Woman's College (now Randolph College), from 1997-2008, where she won ODAC Coach of the Year honors in 2004 and mentored a league swimmer of the year, rookie of the year, and scholar-athlete of the year.

Hodgert has competed in an Ironman triathlon and was the U.S. Masters national champion in the 200 butterfly in 2012. Her son, Harry, plays golf for Lynchburg.
