Emily Zimcosky

Emily Zimcosky joined the Lynchburg swimming program as the men's and women's assistant coach in June of 2023. 

The Smock, Pa. native graduated from Liberty University in 2020 with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in the Studio Arts. She also earned her Master's from Liberty in Sports Management with a cognate in coaching. 

Zimcosky transferred to Liberty for the 2018-19 season. In her first season with the Flames, she won the 200 freestyle at the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association championships becoming the first Liberty swimmer to win that event. 

Zimcosky moved into a coaching role with the Flames in November of 2022. In her first season as a volunteer coach, the Flames won their fifth-consecutive CCSA title and fourth with Zimcosky.

Prior to her four years at Liberty, Zimcosky swam at Ohio University where she held the school record in the 200 free. 

Leading up to her Division-I career, Zimcosky went to Geibel Catholic in Connellsville, Pa. In her senior year of high school, Zimcosky competed at the 2016 U.S. Olympic trials in the 50 free. 

Zimcosky has also spent the last 1.5 years teaching swim lessons with Maximum Velocity to children ages 6 mo.-12 years old. 

In her free time away from the natatorium, Zimcosky enjoys oil painting, drawing, and doing ceramics.
