Ely Shilling joined Lynchburg athletics in August 2024 as the Director of Athletic Communications.
In his role, Shilling oversees the day-to-day communications of Lynchburg's intercollegiate programs through website maintenance, social media coverage, game day operations and media outreach while managing a student-worker staff of more than 30 people.
Prior to Lynchburg, he spent one year at Syracuse University as an Athletic Communications Assistant. While at Syracuse, he served as the main communications contact for volleyball and tennis, and the secondary contact for men's basketball. He also assisted in a significant capacity with Syracuse's men's and women's lacrosse programs.
Shilling graduated from Towson University in May 2023 with a degree in communications. At Towson, he worked in the athletic media relations office and assisted with the coverage of all athletics programs. In the spring of 2023, he took on a more involved role in the athletic media relations office and worked closely with the men's and women's lacrosse programs.
He brings a wide range of experience, having worked with the Baltimore Ravens as a press box associate, Athletes Unlimited in game day operations, and the National All Star Games Powered by Nike as a program administrator.
