Joe Brennan joined the Lynchburg Athletic Department in August 2024.
Brennan serves as the primary athletic communications contact for women’s soccer, women’s volleyball, men’s basketball, men’s volleyball, golf, women’s lacrosse, softball, and wrestling, overseeing coverage and media relations for each program.
He leads the department’s broadcast and video production efforts, overseeing live event coverage while also serving as the primary play-by-play voice for Lynchburg athletics. He is responsible for the execution and quality of all live streams, working across multiple sports and production environments.
In addition, Brennan is also responsible for website maintenance and digital content management, ensuring timely and accurate updates across the department’s online platforms. He produces creative content, manages social media accounts, and designs graphics that directly support team storytelling, game promotion, and fan engagement.
Brennan co-leads the Lynchburg Hornets Sports Network (LHSN) student workforce, helping manage and mentor a team of more than 50 students in broadcast, production, and in-game operations.
Prior to arriving, Brennan completed his undergraduate degree at Indiana University - Bloomington, with a major in sports media and a minor in sports marketing and management. While at IU, Brennan worked with Indiana Softball, Big Ten Network +, and the student radio station, WIUX 99.1 FM as a play-by-play broadcaster.
Brennan is originally from Richmond, Virginia and began his broadcasting career at St. Christopher's School.
