Kristen Hardie joins the Hornets coaching staff with a wealth of experience. Before arriving to the Hill City, Hardie served as the Head Volleyball Coach at Rustburg High School for nearly two decades. During this stint, Hardie was named Virginia Class 3 State Coach of the Year in Spring and Fall 2021, leading her teams to back-to-back State Championships. Her teams also won the Region III Championship in 2008, 2011, 2019, and 2021.
In addition to her role at Rustburg High School, Kristen was the Director of Coaches & Player Development at Central VA Volleyball from 2002 to 2021. She managed diverse programs, including travel and developmental leagues, recruited and mentored coaches, and crafted structured practice plans. As a Travel Volleyball Coach, she guided teams from U12 to U16, demonstrating her versatility and commitment to player development.
Earlier in her career, Hardie was the Head Volleyball Coach at Sweet Briar College from 2001 to 2003.
As a former standout player at Radford University (1992-1996), Hardie brings an abundance of experience and a passion for volleyball.
