River Baldwin joined the women’s basketball staff in September 2026 as an assistant coach after serving in the same role at La Salle.
With the Explorers, Baldwin helped the team to a 19-14 overall record and NIT Tournament appearance. The postseason tournament represented La Salle’s first appearance in a postseason game since 1992. She also propelled Aryss Macktoon to Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year honors, while she and Ashleigh Connor earned All-Atlantic 10 Second Team distinctions.
Before coaching, Baldwin competed professionally for Syntainics MBC Halle in Germany and the Mackey Meteorettes in Australia. Baldwin split her collegiate playing career between Florida State and NC State, tallying 983 career points and 692 career rebounds. During her graduate season, she earned a spot on the All-ACC Tournament Second Team and helped the Wolfpack advance to the NCAA Final Four.
She finished her final season with 21 double-digit scoring games, 35 starts and seven double-doubles. In addition, she was named the USBWA National Player of the Week following her performance at the Paradise Jam, where she averaged 15 points and shot over 76 percent.
The Andalusia, Ala. native was recognized as a 2019 McDonald’s All-American in high school, where she occupied 27th in the ESPN rankings and fifth at her position. Named to the Naismith Watch List as a senior, Baldwin averaged 25 points and 14 rebounds during her final season at Pleasant Home High School.
She was also an all-state volleyball player and secured a state title in the shot put as a multi-sport athlete.
