Hornet women's soccer shuts out Randolph
LYNCHBURG, VA - Lynchburg College women's soccer defeated cross-town rival Randolph College by a score of 12-0 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play on Saturday afternoon at Shellenberger Field.
Senior Cecilia Moore (Washington DC/Woodrow Wilson) opened the day with a goal less than thirty seconds in, off a pass from junior Joanie Snyder (Bel Air, MD/Bel Air).
The duo of senior Betsy Kwiatkowski (Mount Jackson, VA/Stonewall Jackson) and Snyder teamed up on three goals with Kwiatkowski scoring off Snyder's crosses. Kwiatkowski would finish the day with four goals and Snyder would end with four assists.
Freshman Tori Dott (Sewell, NJ/Gloucester Catholic), sophomore Kristen Melchiori (Chantilly, VA/Chantilly), and junior Katie Gebhard (Wyckoff, NJ/Ramapo) all scored in the first half.
Junior Brittany Kilppstein (Springfield, VA/West Springfield), sophomore Shelley Hoath (Alexandria, VA/Mount Vernon) and senior Katie Santos (Cheltenham, MD/Bishop Ireton) all scored in the second half. Sophomore Alicia LaPorta (Broomhall, PA/The Episcopal Academy) scored her first career goal as a Hornet with 2:46 left in the game.
WildCat goalie Victoria Jackson made 15 saves on the day.
Lynchburg (11-2-1/7-0-1) will be in action again on Sunday when they will take to the road to battle Methodist University at 2 p.m.
