Methodist Defeats LC Women 55-43

Emory, VA - The Methodist University women's basketball team defeated Lynchburg College 55-43 Sunday afternoon in the second day of play at the Emory & Henry College Tournament.

Sophomore forward Rebecca Speck (Vienna, VA/James Madison) scored a team-high 12 points for LC, while senior Courtney Brewer (Culpeper, VA/Highland) posted six points and a squad-high eight rebounds. Katie Crump (Burke, VA/Lake Braddock) tallied eight points and four rebounds and Caitlin Falls (Moneta, VA/Staunton River) netted six points.

Iesha Hayes scored 15 points for the Monarchs (2-1).

The Hornets (0-3) open Old Dominion Athletic Conference play Tuesday evening at Bridgewater College. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
