Bridgewater Defeats Hornet Women 88-70

BRIDGEWATER, VA - The Bridgewater College women's basketball team defeated Lynchburg College 88-70 Tuesday night in the first Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) game for both teams.

The Eagles led 26-21 and used a 17-2 run to take a 20-point lead. LC rallied to cut the advantage to just eight at 56-48 with 15 minutes remaining on the game clock, but it is as close as the Hornets got.

Junior forward Caitlin Falls (Moneta, VA/Staunton River) led LC with 14 points (6-8 shooting) and added five rebounds. C Tuesday nightxxddourtney Brewer (Culpeper, VA/Highland) made all six of her free throws and finished with 11 points and five rebounds, and Carly Greenlief (Centreville, VA/Westfield) had 11 points, five rebounds and three assists. Roslyn Alexander (Chesapeake, VA/Shenendehowa) also had nine points.

Jenny Logan totaled a game-high 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting for Bridgewater. Jordan Burkholder added 17 points. Both Eagles snared six rebounds.

The Hornets (0-4) host Randolph-Macon College Tuesday at 7 p.m.
