LC Men's Basketball falls to Roanoke in Home Opener
LYNCHBURG, VA - The Lynchburg men's basketball team fell to Roanoke College on Saturday 84-75 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play in Turner Gym.
Lynchburg was able to pull within two with :57 left in the game at 77-75, but Roanoke capitalized on free throws to distance themselves in the waning seconds of the game.
Sophomore forward Austin Chillemi (Richmond, VA/Trinity Episcopal) and junior guard Tucker Lucas (Herndon, VA/Herndon) led the Hornets with 16 points each. Chillemi went 6-12 from the field and had five rebounds. Lucas added three steals.
Junior forward Nate Campbell (Cary, NC/Cary) put up 10 points and registered six boards. Sophomore guard Robby Kaiser (East Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) went a perfect 3-3 from three-point range.
Roanoke (4-2/1-1 ODAC)shot 50.0% from the field and were led by Melvin Felix who had 29 points. The Maroons also had four players record ten points each.
Lynchburg (4-3, 1-1 ODAC) will host Johnson & Wales (NC) in non-conference play in Turner Gym at 7 p.m. on Monday night.
