LC Men's Basketball Falls to #12 Randolph-Macon
LYNCHBURG, VA - Benefitting from 15 three-pointers, the Randolph-Macon College men's basketball team defeated Lynchburg College by a score of 89-55 on Wednesday night in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play.
Freshman guard Andrew Simmons (Chesterfield, VA/Meadowbrook) scored a team-high 13 points which included going 3-4 from three point range. Fellow freshman guard Manny Hernandez (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) came off the bench and had a perfect line, going 4-4 from the field and hit one three-pointer. Hernandez also had three steals, two blocks, and two rebounds.
Both teams played even early with the score tied 13-13 in the first half, until Randolph-Macon went on a 7-0 run starting at the 11:28 mark. At halftime, the Yellow Jackets led 38-19.
Coming out of halftime, Randolph-Macon hit two straight three point shots to make the score 44-19.
Eric Pugh led Randolph-Macon (6-2, 1-1 ODAC) with 18 points, going 6-10 from three-pointers.
Lynchburg (5-4, 1-2 ODAC) will head to D-I Elon (NC) on Sunday in a non-conference matchup at 2 p.m.
