LC men's soccer match with Salisbury ends in draw
SALISBURY, MD. - Despite 90 minutes of regulation and two overtime periods, neither Lynchburg men's soccer nor Salisbury could score as the game ended in a 0-0 draw at Salisbury University. It is Lynchburg's first tie game of the season.
Salisbury put constant offensive pressure on freshman goalie Michael Releford (Blacksburg, VA/Blacksburg) who got his second consecutive start in goal for the Hornets. Releford turned away 11 shots in the contest and still has yet to yield a goal in his young career. Salisbury had 32 total shots in the game.
Salisbury goalie Jon Vnenchak had three saves in the net for the Sea Gulls to keep the game scoreless.
Lynchburg (4-2-1) will head back home to host Hampden-Sydney College on Wednesday at 7 p.m. on Shellenberger Field.
