Lynchburg men's basketball falls to Randolph-Macon

ASHLAND, VA – The Lynchburg College men's basketball team fell to tenth-ranked Randolph-Macon College by a score of 83-44 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play on Wednesday night.

Junior Nate Campbell (Cary, NC/Cary) led Lynchburg in points, shooting 9-21 from the floor for a total of 18 points and 11 rebounds for the double-double. Eric Pugh of Randolph-Macon had a game-high 19 points.

The Yellow Jackets shot 50% from the floor (29-58) and hit nine three-pointers to earn the victory over Lynchburg for the second time this season.  Using an 18-0 run, Randolph-Macon distanced themselves early from the Hornets, leading 46-15 at halftime. Randolph-Macon stifled any chance for Lynchburg to get back into the game, keeping the Hornets at bay en route to an 83-44 victory.

Sophomore Michael Wims (Standardsville, VA/William Monroe) had six rebounds, while sophomore Robby Kaiser (East Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) and freshman Andrew Simmons (Chesterfield, VA/Meadowbrook) each had six points in the contest.

Lynchburg will return home on Saturday afternoon Emory & Henry College at 1 p.m. in Turner Gym.
