LC falls to Randolph-Macon 75-57
ASHLAND, VA – The Lynchburg College women's basketball team fell to Randolph-Macon College by a score of 75-57 on Tuesday night in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play.
Senior Courtney Brewer (Culpeper, VA/Highland) led Lynchburg in points with 15 while picking up three steals and four rebounds going 3-6 from beyond the arc. Junior Caitlin Falls (Moneta, VA/Staunton River) had 11 points and a team-high nine rebounds. Fellow junior Katie Crump (Burke, VA/Lake Braddock) had ten points and eight rebounds along with four steals in the game.
Lynchburg was down only by five at halftime, 32-27. That lead was narrowed at the 17:46 of the second half when freshman Roslyn Alexander (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendenowa) hit a three-pointer to come within two of Randolph-Macon. The Yellow Jackets though, used a 12-2 run to distance themselves from the Hornets in the remainder of the half on the way to a 75-57 final.
Maggie Roy led Randolph-Macon with 21 points and Taylor Wieczorek added 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Lynchburg will head home and face Bridgewater College on Friday at 7 p.m. in Turner Gym.
