Pyzik earns first win as Lynchburg cruises 79-37 over Randolph College

LYNCHBURG, VA - Lynchburg College women's basketball coach Abby Pyzik earned her first career win as a head coach as the Hornets defeated Randolph College 79-37 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play on Friday night.
The Hornets were led by the scoring duo of freshman Roslyn Alexander (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) and junior Carly Greenlief (Centreville, VA/Westfield) who scored 17 and 14 points, respectively.
Lynchburg began the game on a 12-2 run and would open it up to a 21 point lead by the end of the first half. The lead was stretched out to a 44-point lead at the 2:02 mark of the second half with the score 79-35. Every player that dressed for the Hornets registered a point in the game.
Sophomore Shea Kelley (Norristown, PA/Kennedy-Kenrick) came off the bench and added nine points and seven assists along with four rebounds. Fellow sophomore Leah Bonuccelli (Fairfax Station, VA/W. T. Woodson) went 2-4 from three-point range while registering three steals.
Freshman Caleigh Patterson went 3-6 for six points and pulled down five boards. Olivia Johnson led Randolph (0-10/0-5 ODAC) with 18 points.
Lynchburg (1-9/1-4 ODAC) will travel to Hollins on Saturday with the game starting 4 p.m.
