LYNCHBURG, VA – Junior Jessica Mullen scored a game-high 31 points to lead the Bridgewater College women's basketball team to a 74-68 victory over Lynchburg College Tuesday night in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opener for both squads.

BC lengthened its advantage to 18 points with 11 minutes left and maintained a double-digit lead until four minutes remained on the game clock. A Shea Kelley three-pointer and a Shannon Allan jumper for the Hornets, followed by a steal and layup from Katie Crump cut the Bridgewater lead to just 66-61 with two minutes left. After two BC free-throws, Crump countered with a jumper and two free throws of her own to make the score 68-65 with 59 seconds on the game clock. The Eagles sealed the game from the free-throw line, hitting six-straight down the stretch.

Crump scored a team-high 18 points, and added five rebounds and three steals before fouling out. Allan posted 15 points, six boards, three assists and three steals and Kelley provided a spark off the bench, drilling 4-of-5 three-point attempts to finish with 12 points, three assists and three steals.
