Campbell Nets 25 as Hornet Men Roll to 90-74 Victory at Roanoke
SALEM, VA – Senior Nate Campbell scored a team-high 25 points Saturday afternoon to lead the Lynchburg College men's basketball team to a 90-74 victory Saturday at Roanoke College in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) contest.
Campbell nailed 9-of-15 shots from the floor, 2-of-4 three pointers and 5-of-6 free-throws to post his game-high point total. Sophomore Xavier Parham filled out the stat sheet with 11 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals and nailed both of his attempts beyond the three-point arc. Sophomore Manny Hernandez scored 12 points and added five boards, junior center Austin Chillemi posted nine points and three blocked shots. Brandan Connor scored nine points and Michael Wims and Tucker Lucas each had eight points.
Kwasi Amponsah scored a game-high 27 points for Roanoke (1-5/0-2 ODAC) and also snared a game-best eight rebounds. Logan Singleton tallied 12 points and seven rebounds, while Adam Kessler and Clay Lacy each scored 10 points.
The Hornets forced 20 turnovers and held the Maroons to just 15 percent shooting (2-13) from three-point land. The victory is the Hornets' first on the road against the Maroons since the 2003-04 season.
LC (7-1/2-0 ODAC) takes its five-game winning streak into an important ODAC match-up at Randolph-Macon College Wednesday at 7 p.m.
