Lynchburg Falls to Randolph 71-61 in Season Finale
LYNCHBURG, VA – In the last game of the regular season, the Lynchburg College men's basketball team fell to Randolph College 71-61 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play on Saturday.
Junior forward Nate Campbell (Cary, NC/Cary) scored a team-high 15 points and had seven rebounds in the game.
Randolph held a slim 30-28 advantage at halftime, but the WildCats jumped out to a eight point lead at the 14:04 mark making the score 42-34.
A dunk from Campbell brought the Hornets within five with 2:45 left in the game. A missed one and one opportunity with 2:01 left at the free-throw line then forced Lynchburg to start fouling, sending Randolph to the line. The Hornets eventually fell 71-61.
Sophomore guard Robby Kaiser (East Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) went 4-6 from three-point range, notching 12 points. Senior guard Quentin Aldridge (Fredericksburg, VA/CD Hylton) had 10 points going 4-6 from the floor and grabbed four rebounds.
Derrick Woods-Morrow had a double-double for Randolph (16-9/9-7 ODAC), scoring 13 points and grabbing 10 caroms.
Lynchburg (11-14/6-10 ODAC) has secured the eighth seed in the upcoming ODAC Tournament next week. The Hornets will host #9 Washington & Lee in the play-in round of the tournament in Turner Gym on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
