Hornet Men's Lacrosse Rolls to an 18-2 Win at Guilford
GREENSBORO, NC - Junior attack Dylan Hoff had five assists and scored once to propel the Lynchburg College men's lacrosse team to its fifth-straight victory, 18-2 at Guilford College Saturday night in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play.
The Hornets scored the games' first four goals in the opening seven minutes and led 7-1 after one period of play. Each team scored just once in the second quarter, but LC scored all 10 tallies after intermission.
Derek Sweet scored a game-high three times for Lynchburg, and Chris Eggeling and Ben Sauer each had a goal and an assist. Andrew Wilfong found the back of the net twice while Josh Davey had a goal and an assist. Matt Manzo, Pat Ohrem, Jason Long, Eddie Bilinkas, Chase Loetz, David Alyanakian and Robert Arnold each scored once.
Lynchburg (9-5/3-2 ODAC) out-shot the Quakers 43-19 and converted five of its six extra-man opportunities. Jeff Schwartz won 13 of his 17 face-off opportunities and corralled a game-high 12 ground balls.
Chris Sisk and Henry Farley scored for Guilford (9-6/2-4 ODAC).
The Hornets travel to Randolph-Macon College Wednesday for more conference action at 4 p.m.
