Randolph-Macon Snaps LC Men's Basketball's Home-Winning Streak
LYNCHBURG, VA – Using a 10-0 run in the second half, Randolph-Macon College defeated Lynchburg College men's basketball 85-74 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) showdown on Wednesday night.
Junior Austin Chillemi scored a team-high 18 points to go along with six steals and eight rebounds. Junior Michael Wims. added 13 points, while junior Nate Campbell dropped 12.
Lynchburg sprinted out in the first half to a 12-point lead at 8:04 after a layup from Wims. RMC tied the game up at 33 just a few minutes later after a three-pointer from Adam Desgain and a layup from Andre Simon. Desgain sank two free throws with five seconds left in the half to give Randolph-Macon a 38-36 lead at halftime.
Sophomore Andrew Simmons registered a layup at 15:48 of the second half to give the Hornets a 47-44 lead. Simmons finished the game with six points and four assists. Following a free throw from Campbell, RMC went on a 10-0 run to open a decisive lead on the Hornets. The Yellow-Jackets kept LC at bay for the rest of the half, ending with an 85-74 final.
Calvin Croskey led Randolph-Macon (14-3/7-2 ODAC) with 19 points. Four other players finished in double figures including Andre Simon who finished with 15 points and nine rebounds.
Lynchburg (10-7/5-4 ODAC) heads to Emory & Henry College on Saturday at 2 p.m.
