Hornets Defeat Emory & Henry 79-68
LYNCHBURG, VA –Seven Hornets posted eight points or more Saturday afternoon and the balanced scoring effort led to a 79-68 victory at Emory & Henry College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action.
LC led 38-32 at halftime and clung to a 64-61 advantage with 6:52 left. Harry West, Jr. and Tucker Lucas each scored four points in an 8-0 run over the next two minutes to push the lead to 11 and put the game out of reach.
West, a sophomore guard, finished with a team-high 18 points and added five rebounds and four assists for LC. Senior forward Nate Campbell posted 14 points and four rebounds and junior forward Michael Wims had 11 points and a grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. Lucas, Michael Glover and Brandan Connor each had nine points with Lucas and Connor each hitting both of their three-point attempts. Manny Hernandez tallied eight points and four rebounds and Xavier Parham distributed five assists.
Malcolm Green had 25 points for E&H (8-9/2-7) and Armando Murrell added 10. Both grabbed five rebounds. The Hornets forced 21 Wasp turnovers.
Lynchburg (11-7/6-4 ODAC) returns home Wednesday to face Hampden-Sydney College at 7 p.m.
