Bosco Blast Keeps Hornets Unblemished in ODAC Play; #13 LC Wins 1-0
LEXINGTON, VA – It took until the second half of play, but the 13th-ranked Lynchburg College women's soccer team remained unblemished in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play with a 1-0 victory over Washington and Lee University Saturday afternoon.
The win secures home field advantage through the ODAC tournament for the Hornets.
Lynchburg outshot the Generals 10-0 in the first half, forcing Addie Healy to make three saves, but W&L withstood the charge to keep it scoreless heading into the final 45 minutes of play.
The Hornets were able to take advantage of a tired defense at 67:53 when Dana Nelsen found Angela Bosco for her ninth goal and fourth game-winner of the season.
Tess Frelick made two saves for the Hornets for her team-leading second shutout of the season. Healy finished with five saves for Washington and Lee (14-2-1/10-1).
