Hornet Men's Soccer Rolls to 3-0 Win at Guilford

GREENSBORO, NC - The Lynchburg College men's soccer team won its third-straight contest Wednesday night, 3-0 at Guilford College in an important Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match-up.

LC opened the scoring early as Fredy Flores found the back of the net just 1:27 into play on a feed from Earl Rimbey. The 1-0 lead held up until six minutes before intermission when Brandon Webster tallied an unassisted goal to put the Hornets up 2-0 at halftime. 

Ben Grossfuss added an insurance goal at the 57:55 mark to give Lynchburg the final margin of victory.

LC out-shot the Quakers 19-9 and held a 7-1 edge in corner kicks, and the hosts were whistled for two off-sides infractions.

Guilford (4-8-1/3-2-1 ODAC) goalie Marco Mandalinic made five stops in net, while Hornet keeper Sam Cannon made three saves to preserve his first career shutout. 

The Hornets (7-4/4-1 ODAC) travel to Washington & Lee University for another conference game Saturday at 3 p.m.
