LYNCHBURG, VA – The 12th-ranked Lynchburg College men's lacrosse team outscored Guilford College in each quarter Saturday afternoon to take a 15-7 victory in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opener for both teams.

The Hornets took a 3-0 lead with 3:39 left in the first quarter as Aaron Murphy picked up an early hat trick. The second goal was assisted by Todd Galvin.

Dylan Haupt got the Quakers on the board late in the first on an unassisted attempt that made it into the Hornet cage, but LC netted four of the next five goals to assume a 7-2 second quarter advantage.

Campbell Armstrong, Austin Stewart, David Alyanakian and Galvin each got the ball past the Quaker goalie in the balanced run.

Lynchburg led 7-3 at halftime, and came out strong in the second half with four consecutive goals to hold a commanding 11-3 lead with 10:08 remaining in the third. Murphy contributed his fourth goal early in the third quarter while Cole Barrett, Thomas Rodenhouse and Armstrong added Hornet tallies.
