LC Men's Lax Breezes to 24-2 Victory over Shenandoah

LYNCHBURG, VA – The eighth-ranked Lynchburg College men's lacrosse team scored the game's first 20 goals of the game and breezed to a 24-2 victory over visiting Shenandoah University Sunday afternoon in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action.

Senior attack Charlie Oldendorp and junior midfielder Matthew Baker each posted three goals and two assists for the Hornets. Aaron Murphy collected three goals and an assist, David Alyanakian had two goals and an assist, and Chris Cornelius, Campbell Armstrong and Shawn Ahearn each netted two goals. Todd Galvin posted a goal and two assists, Joey Giannaras tallied a goal and an assist while Austin Stewart, Hunter Thompson, Ryan Kardux, Thomas Kestermann and Rob Arnold each scored goals and Dane Angell, Harrison Brennan, Berk Ellis and Luke Sieber notched assists.

Lynchburg outshot SU 61-18 and won 23 of the game's 30 face-off opportunities. Michael Rhea won 8-of-11 and Harrison Brennan earned 7-of-8 chances. Jon Gill forced three turnovers and Brennan and Tyler Bringman scooped five ground balls each.

Drew Brooks and Stephen LaTona had goals for Shenandoah (5-6/1-2 ODAC) and Ben Judy made 11 saves.

Lynchburg (7-3/2-0 ODAC) travels to Roanoke College for another ODAC match-up Saturday at 2 p.m.
