It was all Lynchburg early in this one. They led 10-1 at the end of the first quarter and then increased that lead to 17-3 by halftime. Austin Stewart and Todd Galvin led the way for LC offensively with five and four goals apiece. Aaron Murphy dished out six assists to his teammates during that stretch and added a goal to the mix. Other Lynchburg goal scorers from the first half include Chris Camarca, Chris Cornelius, Chris Hower, Daniel Owens, Sean Ahern (two goals), and Shayne O'Brien.
The second half was more evenly matched. Shenandoah outscored LC 3-1 in the third quarter and played even with Lynchburg in the fourth. Danny Czerkawski, Brooks Melvin, and Matthew Baker got on the board for LC in the second half.
Shenandoah (4-12/0-9 ODAC) was led by Connor Bishop (three goals) and Stephen Latona (two goals). Ben Judy corralled 20 saves in goal for the home squad.
Each of the Lynchburg goalies made appearances in the cage and totaled seven saves altogether. LC won 28 of 32 faceoffs and outhustled Shenandoah to take a 53-21 edge in groundballs.
Lynchburg finishes the regular season with a 15-2 overall record and has now won 13 consecutive games. Their undefeated ODAC record (9-0) places them first in the ODAC standings, meaning the Hornets will host for the conference tournament semi-finals and finals on Shellenberger Field May 2 and 3.
