LC Women win 10th-Straight, 67-50 over Randolph College
LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College women's basketball team won its 10th-straight game Wednesday, 67-50 over visiting Randolph College in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) game.
Lynchburg led 18-12 after the first period and out-scored Randolph 18-7 in the second quarter, including a 10-2 run to close out the half. LC opened a 26-point advantage late in the third period and cruised to victory.
Senior forward Chaney Forbush delivered 15 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots to pace Lynchburg and Sarah Coronel had 13 points, six rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots. Charmaine Hairston tallied 10 points and three steals and Sammi Goldsmith handed out eight assists. Molly Shephard collected eight rebounds to go with five points.
Korin Harris had 12 points and a team-high six rebounds for Randolph (2-12/0-5 ODAC). Abigail Mullins hit three three-pointers and finished with 13 points. The Hornets out-rebounded their guests 51-34.
The Hornets (12-2/5-0) host Bridgewater College Saturday at 2 p.m. in more ODAC action on Alumni Day.
