Four Hornets in Double Figures as LC Men Defeat EMU 83-74

LYNCHBURG, VA – Four Hornets were in double figures Saturday as the Lynchburg College men's basketball team scored a 83-74 victory over Eastern Mennonite University in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) game.

Senior A.J. Hamilton led the Hornets with 17 points to go with seven rebounds and fellow senior Austen Arnold had 16 points and six boards. Junior Zack Burnett made seven of his nine free throws to finish with 14 points and senior Alex Graves posted 12 points, seven rebounds and four blocked shots. Jay Allen contributed eight points.

Isaiah Harris-Winn scored a game-high 21 points for Eastern Mennonite (5-11/2-8) on 7-of-11 shooting and snared six rebounds. RaShawn Latimer had 18 points and Maleke Jones netted 15 with five assists.

The game was tight at halftime, as LC held a slight 34-33 edge. The lead changed hands several times in the first eight minutes of the second half and the visiting Royals claimed a 54-53 advantage. A 12-0 run gave Lynchburg a 65-54 lead with eight to play and EMU got no closer than nine points the rest of the way.

The Hornets (14-5/7-3 ODAC) head east on route 460 Wednesday for further conference action at Hampden-Sydney College at 7 p.m.
