The Hornets took care of business on Wednesday night, defeating the Randolph WildCats in the first edition of the Hill City Rivalry for 2017, 89-79. The Hornets had a handsome lead at half, up 50-29, but Randolph began to go to the full court press and as the buckets began to fall, so did the lead for Lynchburg. Despite the WildCats getting hot, the Hornets were not phased and stuck to their game plan of going down low and dominating the paint, which helped them earn the victory and extend their winning streak to four games.

- Tying a season-high, junior Caroline Naumann dominated the paint and scored a large portion of her 20 points down low
- Senior Charmaine Hairston has now scored 10+ points in the third straight game after netting 16 points on 7-13 shooting
- Juniors Olivia DeFrancesco drained went 3-6 from deep, finishing the night with 11 points while sophomore Molly Shephard dropped in 14 points and snagged 5 boards in the victory
