The #16 Hornets traveled to Owings Mills, Md. Friday night for the Mustang Classic where they fell to #7 Stevenson 12-9.
Game Breakdown
- Stevenson jumped out in the opening minute to net the game's first goal
- The Mustangs would find the back of the net at the 9:30 and 7:45 marks to take an early 3-0 lead
- Sophomore Evan Lombardo would score an unassisted goal with 6:37 in the first quarter to cut the deficit to two
- Senior Harrison Brennan fed sophomore Andrew Thomas to keep chipping into the lead at the 6:37 mark

- A defensive stale mate saw a tie game heading into the half, 5-5
- Stevenson opened the third quarter on a 4-0 run to hold a 9-5 lead before Lombardo scored his third goal of the game to end the Mustang run with 9:04 left in the third quarter
- Sophomore Colin Dean scored with 7:54 to bring the Hornets within two
- Lynchburg went a man up when Thomas added his second goal of the game to bring Lynchburg within one of Stevenson with 2:16 left in the third quarter
- The Mustangs ended the 3-0 Hornet run in the first 55 seconds of the fourth quarter to go up 10-9
- Rogers tailed his second goal of the night with the assist coming from Thomas at the 9:54 mark to make it 10-9 in favor of Stevenson
- The Mustangs would hold strong in the final eight minutes adding two goals, the second on an empty net, to secure a 12-9 win over the Hornets
