Lynchburg Men's Lacrosse hosted Randolph-Macon in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) quarterfinal round Tuesday night on Shellenberger field.
Game Breakdown
- Senior Joey Giannaras got the scoring started for Lynchburg three minutes into the game
- At the 7:56 mark, sophomore Evan Lombardo found the back of the net to put Lynchburg up 2-0
- On a man-up opportunity, senior Daniel Owens made it a three-goal lead for the Hornets off an assist from sophomore Logan Adams
- Owens would add his second goal of the game at the 9:54 mark of the second quarter to make it 4-0
- Adams would add his second assist of the night when he fed Lombardo for his second goal of the game to put Lynchburg up 5-0 going into the half
- Senior Harrison Brennan would open the second half with a goal to make it 6-0
- Randolph-Macon would end their drought at te 7:50 mark to begin a 3-0 run, eventually cutting the Hornet lead to three with 4:07 left in the quarter
- Freshman Colin Dean would end the Yellow Jacket run to put Lynchburg up 7-3 with 2:29 left in the quarter
- Randolph-Macon would cut the lead back to three with 8:03 left in regulation
- Giannaras would tally his second and third goals of the night, while Adams dished out his third assist to put the Hornets up by five with 4:07 remaining
- With 45 seconds left in the game, the Yellow Jackets would add a goal to make it a four-goal game before Lynchburg closed the 9-5 victory
