Women's hoops uses late run to squash Wasps

Box Score

Lynchburg, Va. -- Caroline Naumann (Mechanicsville, Va.) led the way once again for the Lynchburg College women's basketball team, tallying 19 points, 13 rebounds, and three assists as the Hornets knocked off Old Dominion Athletic Conference foe Emory & Henry, 53-41, Tuesday evening. The win is Lynchburg's eighth-straight.

It was the 11th double-double of the season for the senior forward, who was recognized before the game by Lynchburg president Dr. Ken Garren for scoring her 1,000th-career point, a feat Naumann achieved last Wednesday in LC's win over Roanoke.

Senior guard Olivia DeFrancesco (Greensboro, N.C.) chipped in 11 points and three steals for Lynchburg, while junior forward Molly Shephard (Charlottesville, Va.) scored 10 points.

Taylor Blevins led the way for the Wasps with 12 points.
