Box Score Roanoke, Va. -- Four Lynchburg College women's basketball players scored in double figures Wednesday night, leading to the Hornets' 81-61 road victory over Hollins University in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play.
Junior wing Alex Allen (China Grove, N.C.) set the pace for Lynchburg, going 7-for-9 from the field on her way to a team-high 15 points while also tallying six rebounds and four assists.
Senior forwards Brittany Afolabi-Brown (Montgomery Village, Md.) and Caroline Naumann (Mechanicsville, Va.) joined Allen in double-figure scoring with 10 and 12 points apiece, as did junior forward Molly Shephard (Charlottesville, Va.), who finished with 13 points, five rebounds, and four assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first few minutes of the game started out hot, with five lead changes and a pair of ties. Lynchburg took the lead for good on Naumann's 3-pointer with 6:56 remaining in the first period, but Hollins kept the deficit close.
- Lynchburg was able to find some separation just before halftime. Sophomore guard Michele Montgomery (Alexandria, Va.) sank a 3-pointer in the final seconds to put the Hornets ahead 46-37 at intermission.
- Allen scored 13 of her 15 points in the second and third quarters as she helped LC put distance between the Hornets and their opponent.
- Lynchburg's team tallied 27 assists in the victory, a season-high.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Hornets will look to start another win streak Saturday at home against Bridgewater, with tip-off scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
