Box Score Lynchburg. Va.-- The University of Lynchburg men's basketball team took home yet another win Wednesday night, blowing past defending Old Dominion Athletic Conference champion Emory & Henry, 87-66, in a conference matchup.
Senior Jesse Case (Leesburg, Va.) had a career night with 14 points, eight rebounds, and seven assistsl; senior wing Austin Wrighten (Woodbridge, Va.) earned 16 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. Senior forward Connor Schroeder (Blacksburg, Va.) and junior guard Chance Greene (Creedmoor, N.C.) each racked up 15 points, Greene going 5-for-6 behind the 3-point line.
Lynchburg outscored the Wasps 49-33 in the second half.
The Hornets have taken seven of the teams' last eight meetings on Wayne Proffitt Court.
Lynchburg improves to 5-0 for the first time since 2014-15, when the team won its first six games of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Lynchburg grabbed the lead early with the first five points scored by Schroeder, but Emory & Henry rallied to take a 19-12 advantage with 11:44 remaining in the first half.

A Schroeder layup with 8:55 before halftime sparked a 10-0 Hornets run over the next 4 minutes, culminating with Greene's go-ahead 3-pointer.

With Emory & Henry in foul trouble late in the first half, Lynchburg was able to pull ahead to lead 38-33 at the break.

The Wasps hung around early in the second before another 10-0 Lynchburg run gave the Hornets some breathing room. Senior guard Devante' Young (Charlotte, N.C.) put an exclamation point on the flurry with a three-point play that put the Hornets ahead 53-41 with 15:19 remaining. E&H never cut the lead closer than 8 down the stretch.
LOOKING AHEAD
Lynchburg will play host to the Wayne Proffitt Classic this weekend with participation from University of Mary Washington, Randolph College, and 22nd-ranked Christopher Newport University. The Hornets will first face off with the Mary Washington Eagles Saturday, Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. in Turner Gymnasium.
