Box Score Greensboro, N.C. -- The University of Lynchburg men's basketball team wrapped up an unbeaten weekend with an 82-74 victory over Greensboro Sunday afternoon in the Guilford College Classic.
Senior forward Connor Schroeder (Blacksburg, Va.) had a double-double day, earning 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Sophomore forward T.C. Thacker (Madison Heights, Va.) went 6-for-6 under the basket and 5-for-6 at the free throw line to total a season-high 17 points. Senior wing Austin Wrighten (Woodbridge, Va.) racked up 20 points of his own along with nine rebounds and three assists. Wrighten was named to the all-tournament team.
Junior guard Chance Greene (Creedmoor, N.C.) collected five assists, four rebounds, and picked up 12 points on a quartet of 3-pointers.
Lynchburg's men continued the best start in program history, moving to 11-1. The Hornets received votes in the most recent D3hoops.com top 25 poll.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Lynchburg took hold early and expanded the lead to 25-16 with consecutive 3-pointers by Greene and sophomore forward Jamil Pasha (Alexandria, Va.) at the 12:05 mark.

Wrighten went on a roll, scoring 10 points in a row to get the Hornets ahead 46-32 with 3:51 to half. Lynchburg took a 57-34 lead into halftime.

The Pride outscored Lynchburg 40-25 in the second half but never cut the lead closer than five points as the Hornets held on to win.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Hornets will be back in Lynchburg Tuesday, Jan. 1 to start off the new year against Averett at 4 p.m. on Wayne Proffitt Court at Turner Gymnasium.
