Emory, Va. -- Despite a 27-point, 15-rebound effort from senior forward Caroline Naumann (Mechanicsville, Va.), the Lynchburg College women's basketball team fell in Saturday's regular-season finale, 60-47, at Emory & Henry.

Naumann moved into seventh on Lynchburg's all-time scoring list with a career that now totals 1,140 points. She passed Lynchburg head coach Abby Pyzik Smith on the leaderboard.

Senior guard Olivia DeFrancesco (Greensboro, N.C.) and junior wing Alex Allen (China Grove, N.C.) each had eight points for the Hornets.

Sydney McKinney led the Wasps with 17 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- Lynchburg leapt out to a double-digit lead on the heels of a 9-0 run and led 16-6 after the first period. Naumann scored nine points in the first 10 minutes.

- The Wasps made their run late in the second period, ending the first half on a 16-3 run to take a 27-23 advantage.

- E&H added a 10-0 run in the third to take control of the game.

LOOKING AHEAD

The Hornets will carry the No. 3 seed into next week's Old Dominion Athletic Conference tournament, and will play the winner of Monday's game Virginia Wesleyan and Randolph in the 8 p.m. quarterfinal game Thursday, Feb. 22 at the Salem Civic Center.
