Box Score Lynchburg, Va.-- The No. 12 Lynchburg College men's lacrosse team fell, 14-11, against the No. 15 Diplomats of Franklin & Marshall Sunday afternoon in the Hornets' home opener.
Junior attackman Andrew Thomas (Roswell, Ga.) led the Hornets with four goals. Evan Lombardo (Franklin Park, N.J.) scored two goals and had two assists, while Logan Adams (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) and Kevin Rogers (Leesburg, Va.) each tacked on a pair of goals. CJ Santora (Tewksbury, Mass.) played strong in the net with nine saves.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Lynchburg came out on fire with the first goal scored by Thomas assisted by Lombardo in the first two minute of play. Thomas acquired all three of his goals in the first 15 minutes to bring the Hornets up 4-2 over the Diplomats.

The second quarter went to Franklin & Marshall as they came back to tie up the game 5-5 at the half.

The third quarter picked up some heat as both teams battled to take the lead. Lynchburg scored four consecutive goals in the span of three minutes giving the Hornets a comfy 9-6 lead. But Franklin & Marshall had another come back to tie the game again at 9-9.

The Diplomats took an early lead in the final quarter and the Hornets struggled to make a come back. Franklin & Marshall managed to push out five goals in the final quarter giving them a 14-11 win over Lynchburg.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Hornets will travel to Radnor, Pa. next Saturday, Feb. 24 to face Cabrini University at 1 p.m.
